"[DIY] OMBRE SKIRT"

I wanted to dye this skirt the moment I saw it. I actually have 2, got the second one on the ZARA sales for something like 10 euros and bought it specifically for DIY'ing purposes. Little did I know, the tag said: Do not iron, Do not dry clean, Do not wash, Do not bleach and Do not tumble dry, so I had to risk it and do most of the above, hoping the skirt didn't disintegrate before my eyes...This left me wondering if we are "expected" to buy these pieces and wear them only once or twice? Its crazy to think that if you make your garment dirty by mistake, there is no way of washing it and made me realize that in future, I will check the inside tags before I buy anything.
On the bright side, the DIY was a success, I already shot a look of the day with the skirt to show you the result, but thats coming on Sunday ... Have an amazing weekend!

nice diy! and the instructions you give are pretty clear! you left me wondering though...if you can't wash or dry clean how the hell are you supposed to clean this skirt!
Sometimes I read the labels too, because I tend to buy clothes that are dry clean only!

I think that most of the times, you can do some of the things that they prohibit in the tags...the problem is that the garment wont last thaaat much.. haha xo

Great idea!!
Well, I have a few items which are not supposed to be washed (also from Zara...) but I did it anyway, and they turned out ok. As long as you wash it with cold water and without tumbling you should be ok. :)

Love this diy. Recently ombre dyed a bunch of bridal shower decorations, but this is a way better idea. Love that you chose a print too!

I love this and it turned out great! I dip dyed some pieces myself too but I;m so bad at keeping myself clean...Somehow my hands are almost more pink or blue then the fabric is and that's when I'm wearing gloves :D

I absolutely LOVE the DIY! Most of the time, fast fashion retailers put that on their tags so that they don't have to worry about having to figure out the durability of each individual article of clothing that they sell.
