WHAT WAS I THINKING...

It´s really just my fault, for trying to hold on to the warm weather as much as possible. You can´t really blame me tho, I am a Mexican girl living in a country by the North Sea and yeah, I do get asked A LOT why is it that I am here, having such perfect weather in Mexico???

The more I complain about the weather, the more I realize that it wont change! So I better start making peace with mother nature and accepting that for the next few months, I will be living in freezer..
Naive me, thought that going out tonight wearing a sweater underneath my leather jacket would be enough, truth is, I COULDN´T HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG!!! The weather has drop sooo much in the past 2 days, its crazy!!! I was freezing, I swear, I am not exagerating!! And then add
to that the fact that I was wearing a dress...Oh well....I´ll get over it...eventually, maybe one day :P

THE PROCESS...

I was meant to post this pics like 2 days ago, along with the one with me wearing it,so you could see it better, thing is, my bf has been working REALLY late for the past 2 days so there is no one to take good pics of the whole outfit and it´s not the same when I "try" take them by myself, so I have to wait for him to take them.

I will probably be wearing it today, im torn between 2 outfits, we might be going to a really cool bar in Amsterdam (Herrie), for a tequila night, tho Im not a big tequila fan, which people find strange since I am a mexican girl who doesnt like tequila, Go figure! haha! Truth is I dont drink, I had my moments back in highschool, but I have been member of the super healthy club for quite sometime now. I do the ocassional cocktail every once in a while (Did I mention that my bf´s brother is one of the best bartenders ever, so I do enjoy his cocktails very much every now and then.

So I dont know what Im going to wear tonight, but either way I´ll be posting about it :)

Im working on another one as you read!!!! I am really excited about this one because if everything goes as planned, I think it could be potentially awesome!! I´ll be posting about that one maybe friday or saturday.
Whats up with me and becoming a skirt machine lately???, I´ll try and make some more stuff, tho I am self-taught so I make things I think I can figure out how to, so at the moment, jackets and stuff are out of the question! (they require patterns and so much more detail) I´ve made few dresses tho so maybe I´ll start with those again soon. Still trying to figure out which of the GORGEOUS BALMAIN creations I will try to take on....I´ll work on it, I´ll figure it out.....eventually haha!

* ABSOLUTE PERFECTION *

It goes without saying, that this collection has our heads spinning, wishing and daydreaming about owning at least a piece of it. I´ve seen a lot of shows before, lots of looks, lots of trends, but I swear to you when I say that, I´ve never seen a collection that I´ve fallen in love so much as I did with this one. I dont know what it is, actually I know exactly what it is, EVERYTHING about it its perfect! the shapes, the fabrics, the materials, the sequins, the stud details, THE SHOES FOR CHRIST SAKE!!!

I can´t get over it and the worst is that I keep looking at the pictures, trying to figure out a way to recreate my favorite pieces, but Im not quite sure its going to work, since there is so much detail to them.
Oh well, maybe, just maybe, I will win the lotto next friday and find myself buying the whole thing, you never know......haha!

ANOTHER PRODUCTIVE DAY

Did some sewing again today, I actually finished another skirt! I really like it but I decided to post the pics tomorrow along with the ones were I´m actually wearing it, so you get a better idea of how it looks. In the meantime, I´ll post the pic of the fabric, its a plaid wool, in shades of grey and pink, I love it!!! I know, I know, I wear too much grey at this time of year, but I cant help it, I just love it so much!!! I promise to start splashing some color soon :P

p.s- Im sorry I dont have a full body shot of todays look, I totally screwed up and now its too late cause im wearing pj´s...promise I wont do it again!!

HE'S BRINGING SEXY BACK

Ok, so this might not be big news, since Justin already introduced William Rast girl at NY Fashion Week last september. I just tought this were such inspiring and cool pics, so I wanted to give them a space in stylescrapbook.

Fringes have been a huge trend and as we can see here, they will be going even stronger next SS09. What I love about the William Rast girl look is the male inspiration of it, Im sure all of us love being girly but most of us also love adding the tomboyish twist to our outfits and since the trend seems to be going stronger, I feel like we are not going to stop anytime soon...

1 SKIRT DOWN, 3 MORE TO GO...

So this is what I spent my sunday afternoon doing, I mean, the skirt and the shirt, unfortunately I dont have snap shots of how I made the skirt because I was dumb enough to remember to take them once the skirt was already finished, yeah, I totally forgot to take the pics and then my bf told me, why didnt you ask me to snap the process...OMG, I promise to not do it again, I did tho, snap some pics while I was doing the eiffel tower shirt.

LAZY PLAID SUNDAY

This was one of my vintage finds yesterday, I saw it and didn´t let go, they had so many of them, in different colors, but this one seemed comfy and warm, so I chose it!
We are all loving plaid at the moment and what better way to wear it than with a pair of blue demins. Today was another lazy sunday, not as much as the past 2. I spent the day doing my groceries for the week ahead and once I got home I started working on the fabrics I bought and already made a skirt.

I cant wait to show you one the fabrics I got! I absolutely love it! hopefully you will too, now I am just trying to figure out the best design to suit the pattern, I will, eventually and since I am feeling super inspired lately, I will probably try to take on 2 skirts tomorrow, If I do, I´ll make sure to show you the result...

GORGEOUS VINTAGE FINDS

Yesterday I went into the city to try find nice fabric for my next creations, I cant wait to show you the ones I bought!!!, while we were there, my bf and I decided to walk to china town and get some more chopsticks (when you are a sushi lover, you never have enough of them).
As we were walking there, I stumbled upon my fav vintage store in Amsterdam, what I didn´t know is that they had more than one shop, so this one was new for me and it was totally my discovery of the day!!!!


I went in there not knowing if I would find anything, you know how vintage stores are, sometimes you strike gold and some other times, there is nothing good enough!!! But OH I GOT LUCKY!!!!!

WEARING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME

Finally!!! I wore the skirt I made last weekend for the first time and I have to say, I absolutely adore it!! I made it a bit shorter than the original one, but then, I was making it my way, for myself and I do love my short skirts :P.

NICE SKIRT JESSICA!

Jessica Stroup was spotted at the launching of the 90210 new T-shirt line for KITSON in west Hollywood and I am liking what she was wearing!!!!

This are some of the coats and jackets hanging at the back of my door, problem is tho that the door isnt opening anymore so everytime I get in or out, the door bounces back and hits me in the elbow (every time) you would have thought that I would be aware by now, but I keep forgetting!!! yeah, my elbow is sore lol...

Anyway, today I suffered from the CFOCBNTW syndrome(Closet full of clothes but nothing to wear), I dont know what hit me! but I was in a weird mood, changed my outfit about 30 times, with no exageration and still felt like nothing was good enough! I was just going for sushi at a friends place but still, OH GOSH I hate when this happens, I hope tomorrow brings my old self back!!!!

FAUX FUR LOVER

I was going to a DJ party in Amsterdam today and I couldn´t figure out what to wear, by the end I decided to put on my pair of shiny leggins but since the weather outside was even colder than yesterday, I thought bringing out the faux fur for the first time this year would be a good idea, so I was really warm on my top half of the body, but OMG!!! My legs were freezing!!!!
I survived tho :P

CHILLY NIGHT

Today was OH SO COLD outside, it was mother nature saying: There, have a taste of what you will be getting for the next 6 months HAHAHA...(but picture it with an evil laugh, lol) GREAT ISNT IT???

Well, since there is nothing I can do to change it, I just have to make sure I wear warm clothes, but still look ok, thankfully, the wonderfull world of fashion was created and now we have a massive amount of things to choose from to be warm but still love fab!! and yes, I am wearing my boyfriend´s shirt again :P

COOL FIND

I went into some little store yesterday, I wasn´t planning on buying anything, just thought I could look around and kill some time. It´s one of those stores that even tho it has always been there, I just never bothered checking it out and GOSH I REGRET IT NOW!!!
It´s full of cute accesories like rings, bracelets, earings, gloves, sunglasses, etc...
Since I am and have been completely obsessed with rings for years and years , it just comes natural to me to run to the ring section everytime I get in stores with accesories.

Anyway...LOOK WHAT I FOUND!!!! I absolutely love it and the best part was the price!!!!! so I really didnt have to think about it twice..
So that was my cool find of the day :)

NAIL POLISH JUNKIE

This are my top 3 colors right now, my chanel black satin has been on top for the past year and a half although I have to say, it chips after just one day of wearing it, maybe some of you have a different experience, but I am able to wear it for max 2 days before the top starts chipping.

I am colpletely in love with the brand O.P.I, even after one coat, the nails already look amazing and when you do 2 coats it looks even better and lasts ages as well!

The mini orange bottle is from SEPHORA, I also love this one, it last about 4 days and the color looks even ..

So which are your fav nail colors right now???

GIRLS WILL BE GIRLS

For some reason I felt super girly today, I mean, I know I am a girl so I am kinda supposed to lol, but I do enjoy wearing men clothes sometimes and turning them into something femenine, I have been a HUGE fan of the menswear trend for a while now, but today I felt like doing girly things :P

So after a day of pampering myself, exfoliating, mosturizing, doing my nails, putting treatments in my hair, etc, I felt that the best way to end it was by wearing a girly skirt....and so I did.

I choose the navy blue skirt I recently purchased at H&M, with 2 lines of golden buttons on the sides (It looks a bit like a sailor skirt) and got told by my bf´s brother I looked like a sailors wife..lol, anyway, I think it´s super cute and since I must wear a jacket anytime I step outside, I went for the obvious choice at the moment :P, I promise guys! I´ll try not to wear it so often!


By the way, I went into some stores today to find that they are packed with xmas decorations already, It made me feel a bit sad in a way, cause xmas makes me so homesick and it doesnt get any easier that my family is across the atlantic but on the other hand, I am so excited!!!! I LOVE XMAS! I love decorating, drinking hot chocolate sitting next to the xmas tree, and just staring at the tree lights, remembering when I was a kid....so many memories in my dear old Mexico!!!!


Oh guys! I miss home........

IT´S FINALLY DONE!!

It turns out that I ended up hand sewing the whole skirt( the only thing I did with the sewing machine, was the black waist band at the end) partly because I was a bit scared about the fabric stretching with the sewing machine, since it was a kind of lycra and the other reason why is because I really wanted to get the details right, so I ended up doing the whole thing by hand!!!! But to be honest, I am soooo pleased with the results!! I love my new Alexander Wang´s inspired skirt!!!


I will try wear it tomorrow so you can have a better look, so far I think it looks pretty good!
